Legislative Day, Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Legislative Day 2010 is planned in conjunction with the American Association of University Women (AAUW-NE) and the Nebraska Federation of Business and Professional Women (NE BPW).  Attendees will begin the day at 8:30 am with informational sessions in Room 1023 at the State Capitol.  Following the activities at the Capitol, those present will participate in a luncheon at the Governor's Mansion.  The featured luncheon speaker will be Kerry Winterer, CEO, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.  His speech, "HHS:  Labyrinth or Integrated Design?," will provide an overview of the department.

Per participant cost for the entire day is $20; per participant cost for only the luncheon is $15.

Who can vote in Nebraska?

Registering to vote is required in Nebraska to be eligible to vote. Check deadlines here.

To register you must:

• be a United States citizen and a resident of the State of Nebraska.
• be 18 years of age on or before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
• have not been convicted of a felony, or if convicted, at least two years have passed since the completion of your sentence including parole term.
• have not been officially found to be mentally incompetent.
