LWVNE Board Meeting, Saturday, July 17

The LWVNE Board of Directors will meet on Saturday, July 17, at The Blend, 4900 North 26th Street, Lincoln, NE, from 10:00 am to noon.  Board members wanting to purchase breakfast prior to the Board meeting should arrive earlier than 10:00 am.  An LWVNE Education Fund meeting will follow immediately after the Board meeting.

From Omaha    From Bellevue    From Hastings    From Seward

NOTE:  The final written instruction states that if you reach Kensington Drive, you've gone too far--this applies only AFTER you turn onto Ticonderoga Drive and are doubling back north to The Blend.  You will pass Kensington on your way south on 27th Street to Ticonderoga.

2010 LWVNE Council, Saturday, May 1

The 2010 LWVNE Council met on Saturday, May 1, at the Hastings YWCA.

The delegates voted to undertake two studies recommended by the LWVNE Board of Directors:  (1) a study on the issues relating to policies involving vulnerable adult populations and standards; and, (2) a study on payday lending.

Who can vote in Nebraska?

Registering to vote is required in Nebraska to be eligible to vote. Check deadlines here.

To register you must:

• be a United States citizen and a resident of the State of Nebraska.
• be 18 years of age on or before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
• have not been convicted of a felony, or if convicted, at least two years have passed since the completion of your sentence including parole term.
• have not been officially found to be mentally incompetent.
